The primary purpose of this role is ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the recording of financial transactions for the AGSL group entities, compliance with accounting standards and day to day responsibility for the controls and processes in respect of Tipalti (Procure to Pay), Xero (Accounting ledgers) and HSBC (banking). The candidate will be required to support the VP F&amp;A on accounting &amp; finance related matters to ensure that reporting timelines, both internal and external, are adhered to.ResponsibilitiesFinance, Accounts &amp; Tax<ul><li>Maintain financial accounting systems including a responsibility for ensuring that key reconciliations and controls are carried out of bank accounts, balance sheets, and income statements.</li><li>Investigate and resolve discrepancies or irregularities.</li><li>Ensure that systems and procedures are documented and instilling a culture of continuous improvement in the team.</li><li>Evaluate and address the system, financial reporting and accounting implications of new transactions, contracts, and SPV structures to ensure accurate financial integration and compliance.</li><li>Coordinate with and support the statutory auditor on the annual audit for all UK BESS entities ensuring timely and complete compliance with group reporting requirements (i.e. issuance of clearance for group reporting purposes) and timely finalisation and filing of audited financial statements.</li><li>Maintain general understanding of VAT and UK corporation tax, and remain abreast of relevant local, and global direct and indirect taxation rules, regulations, and conditions.</li><li>Ensure strong knowledge of all aspects of accounting standards; preparing technical accounting papers for new transactions and areas of judgement and estimation as required.</li><li>Review and supervision of journals and reconciliations and other work prepared by BESS Accountant</li><li>Ensure Accounts Payable and Receivables ledgers are updated and reconciled.</li><li>Prepare weekly payment runs and respond to Supplier queries.</li><li>Ensuring all financial data is communicated to Masdar’s finance department in line with group deadlines.</li><li>Using opportunities to make overall processes and reporting more efficient and effective, aligning best practice policies and processes across BESS and Offshore Wind</li><li>Ad hoc assistance and cover for Offshore Wind accounting and reporting matters as required</li><li>Stay current with changes in financial regulations and ensure company compliance.</li><li>Prepare and submit VAT returns and other regulatory filings</li><li>Other administrative duties as required.</li><li>Working closely with VP F&amp;A and Group teams on planned implementation of group Hyperion ERP system</li></ul>Management of auditors, governance and stakeholder relations<ul><li>Involved in financial audits and build relationship with auditors.</li><li>Provide ongoing financial management and control oversight.</li><li>Assist in management of financial compliance matters.</li><li>Oversee local banking activities.</li></ul>Continuous improvement of policies, systems and processes<ul><li>Contribute to the continuous improvement and implementation of unit systems, policies and procedures covering all areas of activity especially the quality and content of financial record keeping, so that all relevant procedural/ legislative requirements and standards are fulfilled while ensuring that policies and procedures support the delivery of the strategy.</li></ul>Reporting to stakeholders<ul><li>Support the VP FP&amp;A in all relevant control matters that assist the completion of all relevant reports in a comprehensive, accurate and timely manner, and comply with international principles of corporate governance and standards, and shareholder requirements in line with the requirements of the Services Agreement with group parent company.</li><li>Ensuring compliance with Masdar Group accounting policies and submission of financial data within required reporting timetables; responding promptly and accurately to Group queries and working closely with Group counterparts to streamline Group reporting processes.</li></ul>
