Responsibilities / Tasks1) Purchasing:<ul><li>Coordinates all activities related to procurement, beginning with intent to purchase, through delivery.</li><li>Analyze the requirements of the commodity, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date commodities are required.</li><li>Solicits and evaluates proposals for the requested commodity.</li><li>Advises team members on the appropriate supplier to be used.</li><li>Negotiates the lowest possible cost for the commodity balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.</li><li>Assures that the commodity is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company.</li><li>Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.</li></ul>2) Engineering Administration:<ul><li>Ensure material certificates are supplied.</li><li>Create data packs required for contractors to manufacture pressure vessels.</li><li>Liaise with the pressure vessel inspectors (AIA).</li><li>Follow up on the drawing design appraisals.</li><li>Issue material certificates.</li><li>Complete all pressure vessel data books.</li><li>Ensure welders qualifications and welder procedures are up to date.</li><li>Creating and issuing of Certificates of Manufacture for all pressure vessels.</li><li>Completion of documentation for all imported pressure vessels.</li></ul>3) Additional Duties:<ul><li>Monitor and manage all open purchase orders for the manufacturing workshop.</li><li>Ensure that purchase orders are received on Axapta after delivery has been received.</li><li>Request outstanding Invoices from suppliers</li><li>Ensure that all purchase orders are in invoice status timeously to ensure that creditors are paid according to agreed terms.</li><li>Handling all creditor-related queries.</li><li>Completing applications for new vendors.</li><li>Completion of credit application forms of vendors.</li><li>Posting manufacturing items to stock.</li><li>Checking manufacturing margins.</li><li>Returning components incorrectly delivered.</li><li>Ordering consumables for the workshop.</li><li>Complete transfer journals for the picking of stock required for projects.</li></ul>Your Profile / Qualifications<ul><li>5-10 years’ experience in purchasing and engineering administration.</li><li>AXAPTA experience would be advantageous.</li><li>General MS Office proficiency</li><li>Good communication skills.</li><li>Planning &amp; organizing skills.</li></ul>Did we spark your interest?
