Serving industries such as factories, electric vehicle charging stations, data centers, and critical infrastructure, Critical Loop ensures reliable energy solutions wherever they are needed.Role Description:We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Battery Storage Deployment Manager to develop and lead the deployment strategy for our battery energy storage systems (BESS). This pivotal role involves creating the foundational processes, procedures, and cost structures for our BESS projects. You will be responsible for navigating the entire pre-construction lifecycle, from permitting and utility interconnection to final approval for both permanently sited and temporary/mobile BESS deployments. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in the renewable energy sector, capable of building a scalable deployment framework from the ground up.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Process and Procedure Development:<ul><li>Design, document, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the entire project deployment lifecycle, from initial site assessment to commercial operation.</li><li>Establish best practices for project execution, quality control, and safety compliance for both permanent and temporary installations.</li><li>Create a scalable framework to streamline project workflows and improve efficiency.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Internal Cost Structuring:<ul><li>Develop and manage comprehensive cost models and budgets for BESS projects, including hardware, labor, permitting, interconnection, and soft costs.</li><li>Analyze project costs to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.</li><li>Work closely with finance and sales teams to ensure accurate project pricing and profitability analysis.</li><li>Work closely with Operations Engineering team to track all materials used during project deployments </li></ul></li><li>Engineering<ul><li>Sales engineering support to include ingesting customer requirements and working with Hardware team to create and validate concept plans (single lines, site layouts).</li><li>Take concept plans through 30, 60, 100% development.</li><li>Cost tracking and availability of critical project materials (combiners, switchboards, inverters, batteries, etc).</li><li>Project management for the entire project from sales to operation. </li></ul></li><li>Permitting and Regulatory Compliance:<ul><li>Lead all permitting activities with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), including local, state, and federal agencies.</li><li>Prepare and submit permit applications, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory requirements.</li><li>Proactively identify and mitigate potential permitting risks and delays. </li></ul></li><li>Project Interconnection:<ul><li>Manage the entire utility interconnection process, from initial application to final commissioning.</li><li>Serve as the primary point of contact with utility companies, coordinating allnecessary studies, agreements, and technical requirements.</li><li>Negotiate interconnection agreements and ensure compliance with all utility standards.</li></ul></li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.</li><li>A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management within the renewable energy, energy storage, or utility sector.</li><li>Demonstrated experience with utility interconnection processes and negotiating interconnection agreements.</li><li>Proven track record of successfully managing permitting for energy or construction projects with various AHJs.</li><li>Strong understanding of project financials, including cost modeling, budgeting, and financial analysis.</li><li>Excellent ability to develop and implement processes and procedures from scratch.</li></ul>Preferred Requirements:<ul><li>Direct experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) deployment.</li><li>Experience managing both permanently installed and temporary/mobile energy projects.</li><li>PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification.</li><li>Familiarity with relevant electrical codes and safety standards (e.g., NEC, UL, NFPA).</li><li>Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with internal and external stakeholders.</li></ul>At Critical Loop, we're committed to rewarding and supporting our team.
