<h2>Overview</h2>We are designing the Grid of the futureAs an Engineer Manager you will manage a team of power system engineers performing transmission studies &amp; projects for clients. Responsibilities include client account management, supporting business development, project management, resource forecasting and utilization, and development of direct reports. <h2>Responsibilities</h2>How you can make an impact:<ul> <li>Perform high level bulk power system studies using various power system software.</li> <li>Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.</li> <li>Interact with Clients to seek input and address their needs and concerns with respect to the project(s) study scope of work.</li> <li>Direct and manage a team of electrical engineers to perform specific power system analyses including steady state (generation deliverability), dynamics, short circuit, EMT studies.</li> <li>Develop and grow the capabilities of engineers within the team and the larger organization.</li> <li>Perform advanced and specialized studies of the power grid utilizing industry standard analysis platforms such as PSS/e, PLSF, Powerworld, TARA, ASPEN, CAPE, and PSCAD (preferred).</li> <li>Assist in model development efforts including development of generation, load, transmission line and transformer models.    </li> <li>Develop optimal system upgrade and constraint mitigation plans for identified system violations and issues.</li> <li>Develop and review transmission study methodologies and processes.</li> <li>Lead process improvement efforts identifying opportunities to enhance organizational efficiencies focused on maximizing team bandwidth while ensuring quality and timeliness of client deliverables.</li> <li>Support business development activities including development of RFP responses &amp; scope of work statements for clients, outlining EPE deliverables and projected completion dates.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2>Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:<ul> <li>5+ years of experience in power system modelling and power system studies</li> <li>Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering with power system emphasis.</li> <li>Experience with control system tuning is an asset</li> <li>Experience with HVDC system is an asset</li> <li>Prior management or team leadership experience preferred</li></ul>Performance Criteria:<li>Quality of the studies/tasks completed.</li><li>Meeting Line of Business efficiency target.</li><li>Meeting deadlines.</li><li>Billable hours.</li><li>Projects completed within budget.</li> Supervision Exercised:This role will manage/supervise a team of power system engineers ranging from 2 to 10 individuals. Lead the change!Be a part of an innovative team shaping the grid of the future through advanced energy intelligence.  For more than half a century, Electric Power Engineers (EPE) has partnered with power and energy clients across the globe, providing consulting expertise and energy intelligence software solutions for complex engineering and grid modeling challenges.
