Reporting to the Controller, you’ll collaborate across teams to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and maintain a high standard of operational excellence. You’ll oversee month-end close processes, strengthen internal controls across multiple facilities, and help integrate accounting data into Charm’s growing ERP and carbon accounting systems.</span></div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-size:16px;">This role is key to scaling Charm’s accounting infrastructure to support our next phase of growth. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, mission-driven manufacturing environment and is motivated by collaboration, precision, and continuous improvement.</span></div><br><br><h3>Your Responsibilities:</h3><ul><li>Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring GAAP compliant reporting and accurate consolidation and intercompany elimination across Charm’s entities.</li><li>Coordinate annual audits and tax filings with external partners, ensuring timely submission and compliance.</li><li>Reviewing general ledger account reconciliations and ensure accounts are properly maintained in accordance with GAAP standards.</li><li>Supervise and develop a small accounting team responsible for AP, AR, and GL functions.</li><li>Contribute to the monthly close process including journal entries, variance analysis and review, balance sheet reconciliations, and other tasks as needed to stay on track.</li><li>Partner with the Production and Engineering teams to develop standard cost models for bio-oil production and facility operations. <p>Our mission is to reverse climate change and return the atmosphere to 280 ppm CO₂. To pursue this challenge, we convert waste biomass into carbon-rich bio-oil and inject it into permanent, underground storage wells as a form of carbon removal, or reform it to produce green hydrogen and syngas for industrial processes like steel, cement, and chemicals manufacturing.</p>
<p>In 2020 and 2021, our carbon removal technology has gained traction with partners like Stripe, Shopify &amp; Microsoft. In the next 18 months, we will deploy the latest and greatest version of our mobile pyrolysis plant, perform a pilot demonstration of our green syngas technology with a steel plant, substantially expand our commercial operations in the Midwest and put more than 1,000 tonnes of CO₂e underground.</p>
