You will be instrumental in migrating legacy systems and optimizing our monitoring dashboards to provide fleet-wide omniscience</span></div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-size:11pt;">On the Ride and Fleet team, you will build out the backend services that provide top-notch rider and vehicle operator experience across mobile apps, robots, and web apps. Our Zoox robots take missions like rideshare trips, charging, cleaning, and support rider interactions like authentication, ingress, and egress. As our intern, you will be part of the backbone of our autonomous fleet management system and the brains behind connecting our riders and vehicle operators to our robots. You will learn from the myriad of our team's scope - from fleet dispatch, payment, rider &amp; mission management, robot &amp; service management to trip ETA. Working alongside our experienced engineers, you will get the exciting opportunity to solve challenging problems and define the ride experience of Zoox's autonomous vehicles.</span></div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-size:11pt;">On the Remote Operations Tools team, you will collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers and remote operators to build full stack web applications to monitor and support our fleet at scale, provide in-vehicle visualization systems and provide live ride support to our growing rider base.</span></div><br><br><h3>Requirements:</h3><ul><li>Currently working towards a B.S., M.S., Ph.D., or advanced degree in a relevant engineering program</li><li>Must be returning to school to continue your education upon completing this internship</li><li>Good academic standing</li><li>Able to commit to a 12-week internship beginning in May or June of 2026</li><li>At least one previous industry internship, co-op, or project completed in a relevant area</li><li>Ability to relocate to the Bay Area, California for the duration of the internship</li><li>Interns at Zoox may not use any proprietary information they are working on as part of their thesis, any published work with their university, or to be distributed to anyone outside of Zoox</li></ul><h3>Qualifications (It’s helpful if you meet a majority of the following qualifications, but it isn’t a requirement):</h3><ul><li>Fluent in Kotlin, Java or Python programming language</li><li>Solid foundations in JavaScript, HTML and CSS</li><li>Experience in modern C++ development on Linux systems</li><li>Solid understanding of web technologies</li><li>Experience with a Front End UI Framework (e.g Vue, React, Svelte)</li><li>Experience with modern software development practices (Git, CI/CD, code review), automated testing and validation methodologies </li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze requirements and propose technical solutions</li><li>Experience with Monitoring Tools (e.g., building/optimizing dashboards and alerts using Grafana)</li><li>Experience in building backend services with HTTP APIs.</li><li>Good understanding of distributed systems</li><li>Ability to actively collaborate with team members to design solutions, define execution plans and deliver features</li><li>Passionate in building ride service and fleet management for autonomous vehicles</li><div><br></div><div><br></div></ul><h3>Bonus Qualifications: </h3><ul><li>Experience with 3D graphics, especially in a web context</li><li>Familiarity with robotics and 3D spatial reasoning</li></ul><br><div><b style="font-size:11pt;">Compensation:</b></div><div><span style="font-size:11pt;">The monthly salary range for this position is $5,500 to $9,500.
