SUMMARY

Ranger Power is a renewable energy development company headquartered in Chicago, IL. Ranger develops utility-scale solar and battery storage projects around the United States. The company is comprised of experienced renewable energy professionals and is looking to grow its team.

DESCRIPTION

Ranger Power is seeking a Project Origination Manager to join its development team. As part of a small and dynamic development team, project origination managers are expected to manage varying responsibilities during the early-stage greenfield development process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Site Prospecting and Site Acquisition: Working with the company’s early-stage greenfield development team, identify optimal sites for solar development, including conducting the necessary research, including in private and public land records, to identify property and mineral interest owners.

  • Real Estate Agreement Negotiation: Understand the company’s real estate agreements and lead the negotiation and strategy of the necessary real estate agreements to obtain site control pursuant to the company’s real estate management policies.

  • Prepare Quality Work Product:  Prepare real estate agreements, presentations, mapping, and other work product timely and accurately.

  • Development Analysis: Coordinate and collaborate with internal resources and third-party consultants to conduct the company’s early-stage development project analysis to include real estate, environmental, permitting, and interconnection fatal flaw analysis.

  • Represent Ranger Power: Understand Ranger Power’s business and project development process to represent the company in interactions with landowners and our projects’ communities.

  • Organization and Data Management: Organize, store, and transmit project information effectively using internal and external data management policies.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Project management, organizational, and analytical problem-solving skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team

  • Ability to initiative to drive early-stage greenfield development objectives

  • Ethical, professional, and respectful workplace manner

  • Significant domestic travel – up to 75%

  • The ideal candidate will have familiarity with researching private and public land records, experience negotiating renewable energy real estate agreements, expertise with geospatial tools, including ArcGIS and Google Earth, and at least two years of experience in the solar or renewable energy industry.
