Project Coordinator - Green Workforce Development

SEI is seeking a Project Coordinator to support SEI and our sustainability-focused workforce development programs. This is a full-time position, with a flexible schedule of 3 days per week work from home and the remaining days in our main office in San Rafael, CA. 

IMPACT

In this position, you will play an integral role across our organization, working closely with its leadership and program teams.  You will have a leading role in ensuring that assigned Energize Careers training partners efficiently meet expectations around participant enrollment, job placement, and retention, working to remove barriers and challenges to program goals, and proactively growing the depth and reach of the Energize Careers program impacts.  To get a sneak peek at the programs you’ll work on in this role check out Energize Careers and Climate Corps!

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Receive a competitive starting salary of $66,000 plus company-paid health insurance, sick time, vacation time, 14 paid holidays per year, in-house dental/vision/chiropractic plan, participation in a 403(b) Retirement Plan (with matching after one year), a hybrid schedule with 3 days per week work from home, and additional scheduling accommodations available.  This is a non-exempt hourly position.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with training partners & participants.  
• Troubleshoot and efficiently help resolve all barriers and issues negatively affecting performance benchmarks & deliverables, such as participant enrollment, job placement, and retention.
• Ensure all assigned training partners complete invoices and assessments correctly & in a timely manner. 
• Supervise and coach multiple internal and temporary external staff, including fellows and participants for our flagship programs
• Provide direct career coaching & mentorship to individuals who experience barriers to employment, including those who have been previously incarcerated or come from disadvantaged communities.
• Assist with all aspects of our workforce development projects and programs, including participant recruitment, participant coaching and mentoring, participant hiring processing, staff supervision & mentorship, evaluation, reporting, & project management.
• Develop and enhance relationships with key workforce development stakeholders including 9-16 education institutions, wrap-around service providers, industry partners, workforce investment boards, & other key stakeholders.

• Collaborate with higher education and training institution faculty on curriculum projects focused on sustainability topics including energy efficiency and decarbonization.

• Develop and enhance industry partnerships with energy efficiency contractors, sustainability organizations, green building/ renewable energy companies, etc.
• Typical working hours are Monday-Friday, with 2 days per week in the main San Rafael office and 3 days per week telecommuting, include occasional travel, 3-4 days per month of field support, and require flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience in fields related to this position.
• At least three years of experience in green workforce and/or experience working with underprivileged communities such as social casework or similar.
• Access to reliable transportation for work-related commitments.

• Genuine commitment to anti-racism and willingness to work in racial equity frameworks and experience in addressing racism and racial equity with team members and programmatically.
• Authorization to work in the US for any employer.
• Experience with and desire to mentor & assist disadvantaged populations. 
• Case management and/or job development experience. 
• Demonstrated mastery in project management & work organization.
• Track record of expanding your role, responsibilities & associated outcomes. 
• Basic understanding of the nature of & players within local public agencies, nonprofits, businesses & educational institutions, including traditional or non-traditional teaching & curriculum design 
• Foundational knowledge of sustainability, climate change, energy conservation, energy efficiency, renewable energy, green infrastructure, electrification, clean mobility, & building science.
• Experience and ease developing relationships and skillfully working with colleagues, partners, & clients
• Evidence of strong verbal and written communication, analytical, & organizational skills.
• Aptitude for rapport building & working collaboratively with others.
• Excellent interpersonal skills & the ability to empathize with others
• Strong experience with & interest in various information technologies along with competency across the Google & Microsoft suites of software 
• Aptitude to quickly learn industry or project-specific software.
• Ability to work under direct supervision, collaboratively in teams/ partners, or independently.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

SEI requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with exceptions made for health and/or religious reasons upon discussion with our People Resources Department. This position requires applicants to perform the following tasks: Read/comprehend, write, perform calculations, communicate orally, reason and analyze, use fine finger movements, use a computer and mouse, sit, stand, walk, drive a motorized vehicle, carry and/or lift up to 40 pounds, reach above shoulder level, bend, squat, crouch, kneel, push/pull, grasp.
