Commissioning Engineer

This position is responsible to complete or assist in the completion of duties necessary to commission Energy Conservation Measures defined within the commissioning plan of a project.  This will include completing various levels of Pre-Functional and Functional Performance Testing, System Optimization, and troubleshooting as needed to provide complete and operational building systems.

  • Play a vital role alongside our Senior Engineers and Project Managers in the execution of commissioning activities.
  • Contribute to improving commissioning processes and creating best practices.
  • Participate in the technical analysis necessary to interpret and troubleshoot building operations.
  • Communicate effectively to a wide range of client stakeholders.
  • Work effectively as a team member.
  • Lead projects as a Project Manager from the beginning to successful completion.
  • Develop commissioning schedules, and produce high quality commissioning plans, reports, pre-functional and functional test procedures.
  • Perform jobsite observations and field testing.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of our commissioning services in a manner that develops partnerships with clients.

  • Willingness to travel to job sites in the Midwest region when required.

This job might be for you if:

  • Bachelors Degree in HVAC, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering programs with 4+ years of equivalent work experience
  • Associates Degree in HVAC, Mechanical, or Electrical technical science programs with 7+ years of equivalent work experience
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC Building Automation Systems
  • General mechanical aptitude
  • Computer software skills – Windows, internet, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Clear, precise written communicator
  • Creativity in solving technical problems
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Good time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Punctual and reliable

Travel:

Ability to travel greater than 50% to project sites throughout the Midwest region is required. Normal work schedule is Mon-Thurs/Fri depending on project requirements. Special project circumstances may require additional working hours on weekends; however, this is typically scheduled in advance.
