Quantumscape is seeking an R&D hardware development technician. Our ideal team member is self-motivated and is proficient with mechanical and electrical problem solving, and can work well in teams and individually.  Role:  You will work closely to support the R&D HW engineering team to test and refine critical process hardware designs.  You will participate in design reviews, prototype tests, and iterative problem-solving efforts.    Responsibilities:  You will drive assembly and test of critical hardware designs.  You will contribute to initial design as well as iterative design changes to improve performance to conform to final operating specifications.  You will be a hands on expert of the new hardware helping to lead the effort to meet final specifications  Minimum Requirements:  Associate degree in electrical or mechanical technology or equivalent desired.   Minimum of 10 years experience in an R&D environment. Strong troubleshooting and repair skills on electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.   Good fundamental understanding of basic mechanical and electrical concepts.  Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  You are autonomous, personable, positive, and willing to learn.  You are a great teammate and enjoy working in a team. You like technical challenges. You are very organized and are driven by priorities. You are a “jack of all trades” and are good at driving a solution to a wide range of problems. And solving problems gives you a sense of accomplishment.  You like to spend time honing those skills by working on various types of hardware.   Experience in any of the following are a plus:  Mechanical mechanisms, Vacuum systems, gas delivery and atmospheric control, PLC controls, PID controls, electrical troubleshooting, mechanical troubleshooting, leak checking
