Senior Back End Engineer, Marketplace (Remote)

The role: The Marketplace team is looking for a back-end engineer to join our ranks in the fight against climate change. Imagine an enterprise customer coming to Pachama to identify high-quality projects to select for offsetting some of their carbon footprint. Your team’s job is to educate, curate, connect, and transact using the latest technology and remote-sensing products at our disposal. 
We’re looking for a back-end engineer who enjoys noodling through tough problems in a startup environment and you are energized by a good challenge that helps you grow and learn. You take pride in the excellence of your work and are an effective communicator to non-technical stakeholders. Improving systems excites you, and you’ve had experience advising your team on new technical initiatives that improve the output of your team. Like us, you love writing clean, efficient and well-tested API services.

You will be:

• Working within the team to rapidly deliver high-quality features for our customers
• Writing high-coverage tests for complex pieces of code
• Ensuring our APIs remain highly performant and easy to use
• Ensuring our ecosystem of micro-services communicate impeccably
• Continually looking for ways we can improve our technology and processes
• Helping guide the technical direction of the marketplace team
• Owning, driving and communicating large back-end epics and initiatives

We expect you to be/have:

• Highly proficient in python, postgres, REST, GraphQL, test-driven development and event-driven micro-services
• Very comfortable with tools of the trade - Git, CI/CD, Docker, GCP/AWS/Azure, Datadog
• Six or more years experience in the industry
