Job Description

About Wunder

Wunder is building a Modern Energy Company.

We were founded with one simple vision: to address the greatest crisis of our generation by accelerating the deployment of solar energy. In doing so, we help businesses, municipalities, and schools save money by delivering clean on-site power. We convert simple warehouses into electrified industrial platforms built for the future. We enable the nation’s leading commercial and industrial real estate firms to capture the benefits of solar across their properties. We align ESG goals with revenue targets, and the renewable energy assets we’re deploying today will power America’s tomorrow.

Wunder currently holds more than $1 billion in solar assets under management and capital commitments. Our team has evaluated more than 10,000 properties for solar across all 50 states. Our average solar system - about 480 kilowatts in size - can offset 350,000 pounds of coal burned each year of system operation!

The Role

We have an amazing opportunity for an organized, innovative and experienced HR professional to join our fast-growing team! The mission of Wunder’s People team is to provide an incredible employee experience so that our team members can do the best work of their lives, while simultaneously saving the planet. Our team is growing exponentially and our People team needs a strong individual to support this expanded headcount, which is why we need you to own all things human resources.

Specifically, you will autonomously own the employee experience from onboarding though offboarding and all human resource administration. This includes, but is not limited to, furthering our onboarding processes, benefits administration, federal and state compliance, policy development, HRIS implementation and administration, training and DEI programming, innovative employee engagement initiatives, and event planning. You will be Wunder’s go-to person for all things human resources, and play an integral role in the evolution of our culture, systems and processes.

If you get excited about supporting a high-impact team, implementing innovative employee engagement strategies, building an organization aimed at saving the world, and ensuring that all of the details needed to make all of that happen are covered, then this is the role for you!

About You

  • In-Depth HR Knowledge - You have 6+ years of HR experience at high-growth tech companies. You’ve had a significant impact on your organization’s HR practices and you have an in-depth understanding of benefits, HR laws and compliance, and policy development. You handle your responsibilities with a high level of discretion, diplomacy and confidentiality.

  • A Passion for Systems - You believe the key to scaling an organization is the effectiveness of its systems. You love evaluating systems for efficiency and consistently take action to implement improvements. You’re excited by the opportunity to upgrade Wunder’s onboarding processes, performance management and professional development systems, and so much more. Bonus points if you’ve led an HRIS integration, and you’re excited about running point on all the details involved in this transition.

  • High Emotional Intelligence - You have a high EQ and excellent interpersonal skills. In other words, you live and breathe people. You have the ability to connect with everyone you meet, enjoy impromptu conversations with team members, and have a passion for ensuring Wunder is a great place to work. You’re excited about creating innovative employee engagement strategies to ensure Wunder remains an incredible place to work for years to come.

  • You’re Exceptionally Detail-Oriented & Organized - You believe the devil is in the details. Whether it’s evaluating a multitude of benefits offerings, taking note of a team member’s favorite ice cream flavor, or organizing an in-depth itinerary for a company retreat - you’ll anticipate and take care of every last detail to ensure the trains are running ahead of schedule.

  • You’re Autonomous & Creative - You love working at companies in hyper-growth mode and have a no-task-is-too-small attitude. You enjoy wearing many hats and you’ll do whatever is needed to accomplish our shared goal of ensuring Wunder is an incredible place to work. You’re resourceful, execution-oriented, innovative, autonomous and handle ambiguity well.

  • You have a Team Ethos - You thrive in a creative, inventive, fast-paced environment, with people who are passionate about their work and mission. You’re willing to do whatever it takes to help your teammate next to you succeed.

  • You Believe That No Problem is Too Hard - In an industry where people are constantly stuck, we find ways to get it done. You find new and effective ways to streamline processes and increase efficiency.
