Job Title: Senior Firmware Validation Engineer

As a member of the control and architecture team, you will be responsible for delivering high quality test automation, hands on testing hardware bring-up which include motor controller and diagnostic tool. You will be also responsible to test and integrate firmware at vehicle level.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and improve test automation infrastructure and frameworks, as well as HIL system for extending testing coverage, diagnosis, and troubleshooting
  • Develop test cases and validation criteria to satisfy Functional Safety requirements as per ISO 26262.
  • Collaborate with firmware, control, and hardware engineers to ensure implementations meet requirements and desired functionality
  • Troubleshoot various systems and ECUs using lab and measurement equipment including power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters as well as tools such as Vector, CANalyzer etc.
  • Document and track issues as appropriate and participate in triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution

Requirements:

  • BS / MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Understands the basics of EV architecture and power flow
  • Proficient in Python, C/C++ is a plus
  • Skilled in real-time simulation models developed using MATAB/Simulink and NI LabVIEW/Veristand
  • Good understanding of MIL/HIL simulation methodologies
  • Experience in testing and debugging complex hardware/software systems

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with electric vehicle development is highly preferred.
  • Experience with embedded systems NXP MPC microcontrollers a plus.
  • Experience with continuous integration/deployment systems with Jenkins
  • Experience developing embedded firmware for safety-critical applications in production environments, such as knowledge of ISO26262.
  • Familiar with popular calibration tools in automotive industry, such as CANape/CANalyzer
