We are looking for a Supervisor, Electronics Shop to join our team. The Supervisor, Electronics Shop at Wisk will help lead a group of technicians providing oversight on various procedures, interpreting applications, and collaborating with upper management to solve problems. 

Why we need you

  • The goal of the Supervisor, Electronics Shop at Wisk is to help build the first fully autonomous all-electric aircraft that performs and operates safely in an urban air-mobility environment. You will work with technicians, quality, and engineering to resolve problems and develop techniques for special projects and programs. Have the ability to work from digital work instructions, blueprints, drawings, manufacturing specifications, and work orders. Your goal is to make sure that scheduled tasks are met within proper time constraints. Your mission is to keep safety at the forefront of everything you do managing a team manufacturing powered electronics/avionics products in accordance with current processes and specifications. 
  • The successful candidate is a highly knowledgeable and experienced technical person who has direct hands-on experience developing and building type certified aircraft, from initial concept through flight testing and certification, with the technical breadth necessary to interface with all engineering functions such as Hardware, Manufacturing, Test, and Certification.  In this role, the candidate must be proactive, forward thinking and self-motivated with the ability to inspire and lead by influence a team of like-minded personnel.

What you will do:

  • As part of the manufacturing team organization and deployed in the electronics shop, you will act as a Supervisor, Electronics Shop for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous UAM market.
  • You will take part in the day-to-day oversight of shop floor personnel. You will establish priorities, prepare work schedules and assign technicians with daily tasks.
  • You will support, develop, and train shop personnel through expertise coaching and excellent leadership skills. Support  assembly of all products to ensure they are manufactured with safety in mind, built with a quality mindset, and in accordance with all applicable processes, specifications, and engineering definition. You will develop effective relationships with colleagues and managers by helping others accomplish tasks and using collaboration and conflict resolution.
  • You will drive 5S initiatives and activity for your shop to ensure that the area is clean, organized, and free of dangerous and/or hazardous material. You will proactively drive the quality systems quality improvements and 5S programs as directed by production management. You will maintain and enforce ESD standards specified by IPC industry standards. 
  • You will instruct employees regarding safe working procedures and requirements when working with electronics and high voltage systems.
  • Report potentially dangerous electrical equipment to the director of manufacturing and take steps to resolve the issue.
  • You will take part in assigning daily tasks to shop personnel as required to meet company milestones. Perform QA inspection with the Quality Team on received electronics and mechanical hardware.
  • In some areas, you will  work  cross-functionally with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, quality control, supply chain, IPT leads, and other  managers as required. It is expected that you will coordinate a plan to ensure all documentation required is correct to build the powered electronics and avionics assemblies with the supporting teams. 

What you have done:

  • Minimum of 5 years managing teams with individual contributor direct reports in powered electronics manufacturing environments. 
  • Relevant hands-on manufacturing with at least 5 years of experience in the integration, verification, and certification of aircrafts or large integrated systems such as integrated avionics and electrical systems.
  • You have worked on various integrations of complex, safety-critical systems and solving associated problems.
  • You have  strong and applicable knowledge of complex processes, as-built and record documentation, quality systems, and manufacturing execution systems. 

Desired:

  • You are familiar with functional systems checks, NCR(s) and QAR(s), and powered electronics system fabrication and integration. 
  • You are familiar with ECAD tools such as Altium, Allegro or similar.
  • You are certified in IPC 610H and 620D industry standards. 
  • Ability to become an IPC standards trainer.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds or less when required.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and physical dexterity.
  • Ability to distinguish various colors of wires and distinguish electronic system sections and wiring.
