Quality Control - Morehead, KY

About the Role:

As a member of the Quality Control team at AppHarvest, you will be joining a team at the forefront of reinventing sustainable agriculture by performing inspections on produce to ensure that all produce meet standards of quality and safety.

What you’ll Do:

• Quality Control experience preferred
• Must be willing to work in a refrigerated packhouse with exposure to temperatures (55 – 65 degrees)
• General understanding of food safety program good practices (GAP’s, GMP’s, etc.) preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a group setting
• Well organized and extremely attentive to details
• Experience utilizing tools and equipment needed to complete various packhouse tasks

Eligibility:

• Been in your current position for at least 90 days with zero corrective actions related to performance or attendance

What We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1–2 years of Produce Quality Control experience preferred
• Familiarity with concepts related to production systems, principles of quality, and methods for controlling variation
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong organization and time-management skills
• Experience using materials handling equipment

Working conditions / Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to stand for a full 8-hour shift on concrete floors
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and bend
• Must be comfortable working in temperatures ranging between 55 -65 degrees
• Must be able to work at a steady pace and must be detailed oriented
• Must have a reliable form of transportation
• Open availability to work various work schedules including weekends
• Must be authorized to work in the US
• Must be comfortable working near moving mechanical parts
