Where in the world of OVO will I be working?

You’ll be working within the Commercial team at OVO Energy, reporting into the Head of Commercial Optimisation under the CCO. The team is playing a crucial role in helping the C-suite to monitor and understand business performance as well as find opportunities and areas of focus.

What will I be doing?

You will be responsible for collating, reviewing and analysing business performance data across Commercial. They work closely with a large number of partners across the organisation to ensure senior internal stakeholders (e.g. CEO, CCO, COO and board members) receive accurate data and insights

Their activities fall in four main areas 

  1. BAU performance reporting - ensuring accurate and timely submissions of performance data (weekly and monthly) to senior partners such as Retail CEO and Chief Commercial Officer 
  2. Transformation of performance tracking - continuously finding and implementing new ways to streamline and automate data flows across brands and systems to improve accuracy and efficiency
  3. Help other teams within Commercial to source and understand data  
  4. Provide ad hoc data and insights - support the head of Commercial Optimisation in gathering, analysing and presenting useful insights to senior partners like CCO, VP of Growth, CEO 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Produce and update weekly dashboards and KPI scorecard used by Retail CEO, CCO, and the broader leadership team to monitor business performance
  • Own the accuracy of the data and become expert on data flows and definitions within Commercial
  • Establish and proactively manage relationship with multiple partners across the business to gather and understand data 
  • Supporting the Head of Commercial Optimisation to established and maintain a “single source of the truth” for all key operational and commercial metrics across the Group
  • Support the Head of Commercial Optimisation in producing useful insights to be shared with  Retail’s leadership team

Is this the job for me?

You will have 

  • Good knowledge of SQL, Tableau/BI, Big Query
  • Advanced Excel/ Google sheet skills 
  • Experience and knowledge within the energy sector will be an advantage 
  • Experience in visualising data and building dashboards for senior partners
  • Experience at analysing data to identify trends, inconsistencies and insights 
  • Ability to start a project from conception and work with various teams to ensure a positive outcome
  • A keen eye for detail and ability to produce high quality deliverables. 
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to collaborate with others and work with a high degree of autonomy
  • Comfortable navigating change and uncertainty, with a flexible working attitude.
