The Transportation Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Construction Inspector IV for immediate employment in Novi, MI office. Our people bring deep industry knowledge to help you succeed.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Uses past experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals and solve problems in the field as they arise.  </li><li>Responsible for monitoring deadlines, overseeing and coordinating project testing, and coordinating work with the Contractor.</li><li>Responsible for relaying major problems that affect cost/scope to the Project Engineer. </li><li>Provides on the job training and mentoring to new and junior employees.</li><li>Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.</li><li>Performs daily field inspections, maintains inspection records, and review inspector reports from junior inspectors.</li><li>Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.</li><li>Tracks quality assurance progress.</li><li>MDOT certifications are required or must be earned within 6 months of beginning employment.</li><li>Basic understanding of construction principles and practices; ability to document any and all relevant events, issues and variances; good active written and verbal communication with construction personnel and engineers</li><li>Ability to perform basic computations and calculations and review calculations that other inspectors complete and ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.</li></ul>
