The Center for EcoTechnology is hiring an Energy Analyst (HERS Rater) to join our team of technical staff providing high performance building services. The Energy Analyst (HERS Rater) will perform energy modeling, inspect buildings, perform diagnostic tests, and provide consulting for single family and multifamily buildings. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with HERS rating experience who wants to take their work to the next level, or for someone with no HERS rating experience who is passionate about reducing the environmental impact of buildings and has a technical background or education. This position is located in Western Massachusetts Springfield area in order to provide in-person assessments of structures.

The candidate can either work from their home office or from CET’s Northampton office and will perform field work 20-60% of the time. Field work will be throughout Massachusetts with a concentration of projects in the western part of the state.

What You Offer
Experience performing HERS ratings or a degree in science, math, engineering, or architecture is required. Must have strong math and geometry skills, excellent computer skills including Excel and databases, and excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong communication skills including the ability to communicate technical information for practical application are key. Must have a strong commitment to improving the sustainability of residential buildings.
Candidates may have, or must be able to achieve:
You must be able to move throughout a construction environment including outdoors, in basements and crawl spaces, and in unfinished or unfloored attics. Must be able to tolerate temperature extremes and poor air quality. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders and use technical and scientific equipment. Frequent computer use required.
