Job Description

The Center for EcoTechnology is hiring a Residential Energy Program Manager to lead a portfolio of Massachusetts energy efficiency programs. As administer of utility programs under Mass Save and the Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company, CET is at the forefront of program innovation, working with residential customers and utilities to increasingly focus on electrification and comprehensive decarbonization for home energy assessments.

The successful candidate will have a clear vision for how energy efficiency programs are changing, and will work with utilities and CET’s team to continuously iterate, expand, and strengthen program incentives and solutions to drive decarbonization.

The Residential Energy Program Manager job:

  • Oversees the implementation of CET's residential energy programs.
  • Serves as client representative offering a focus on electrification and comprehensive decarbonization for home energy assessments.
  • Collaborates with staff to implement tools and procedures that improve work quality, increase operational efficiencies, and drive new technologies.
  • Monitors progress against contract deliverables, program goals, key performance indicators, and budgets, and develop client reports.
  • Represents CET at planning and program meetings with clients, utilities, and state partners.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements

  • 3 years experience managing energy efficiency programs, preferably with a solid understanding of building science and HVAC systems in the context of residential audits.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, strong organizational and time management capabilities, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Aptitude for managing multiple customers and clients with different goals, program requirements, and procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities—resourceful, pro-active, able to pivot, and open to change.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative style.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Office and Teams, as well as modeling software a plus.

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm for the non-profit mission of CET. This is a great opportunity for an experienced energy auditor who has a building science background, likes working with people, and who is passionate about large-scale building electrification and decarbonization.

CET is based in Northampton, Massachusetts and this position can be in-person or remote, with minimal travel to MA. Remote employees must have high speed internet access and a working location free from distractions and interference during business hours. CET will provide a laptop and other office technology.
