To accomplish this mission, Rondo is deploying low-cost, zero-carbon Rondo Heat Batteries to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy and to significantly decarbonize industrial processes that are commonly thought of as "difficult-to-decarbonize". The Heat Batteries are charged from intermittent renewables to provide high temperature, continuous heat for customers safely, reliably, at an unprecedented 98% efficiency, and at a cost point that is lower than any other method.

Rondo is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in manufacturing processes. Experience with scaling manufacturing of new products and facilities from prototypes to volume production is highly desirable.

About the Senior Manufacturing Engineer position 

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Develop scalable manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching manufacturing, handling and testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
• Assure product and process quality by implementing testing of incoming and outgoing materials and products.
• Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
• Analyze production processes, schedules, methods and other data and provide management with reports containing the data and statistics and devise recommendations to management to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process.
• Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Train and lead manufacturing staff to meet production and quality goals.
• Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements.
• Ensure that the company’s manufacturing processes are in compliance with all government laws and regulations.
• Investigate production problems.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services to keep production equipment operational.
• Design new equipment, processes, procedures and systems to support manufacturing efforts.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Have at least 5 years of experience with scaling manufacturing of new products and facilities from prototypes to volume production.
• A technically hands-on person with multiple successful designs for manufacturing projects desirable.
• Fluency in Solidworks and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Manufacturing experience of large, heavy products is desirable.
• Experience developing bespoke manufacturing tooling is desirable.
• Have subject expertise in various mechanical engineering disciplines, specialized training or experience with high-temperature materials is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Driven and self-motivated. Must be able to work independently with minimal direction, take initiative, maintain relationships, and work effectively and collaboratively at all levels of the organization
