Rondo Energy's mission is to eliminate 15% of global CO2 emissions in 15 years.

To accomplish this mission, Rondo is deploying low-cost, zero-carbon Rondo Heat Batteries to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy and to significantly decarbonize industrial processes that are commonly thought of as "difficult-to-decarbonize". The Heat Batteries are charged from intermittent renewables to provide high temperature, continuous heat for customers safely, reliably, at an unprecedented 98% efficiency, and at a cost point that is lower than any other method.

Rondo has an immediate need for an Electrical Engineer to help drive the continued success of the organization. 

About the Electrical Engineer Position

Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Design, document, and test modular hardware systems for process automation
• Work with cross-functional engineering teams to define requirements specifications and system definitions for multiple products
• Program PLC and/or C/C++ controllers to interface with industrial automation equipment and devices
• Conduct analysis, performance benchmarks, safety audits, document reviews
• Design electronic modules for different applications within heat storage (Schematic, PCB, design documents, testing)

The ideal candidate will have:

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Experience with system-level design including circuit design, PCB layout, system bring-up, integration, and debugging
• Understanding or electronics fundamentals as low-power analog circuit design, DC/DC converters, power management methods, A/D and D/A conversion
• Familiarity with functional safety and industrial safety standards
• Experiences with writing and interpreting of engineering documentation (specifications, testing protocols, design documents etc.)
• Knowledge or familiarity of development processes

Bonus Qualifications
Great if you have:

• Experience with embedded programming in C, C++ and VHDL
• Hands-on lab experiences such as soldering, crimping, and experience with lab equipment (power supplies, signal generators, oscilloscopes)
• Familiarity with common industry technologies and protocols including I2C, UART, SPI, Modbus, Ethernet
• Familiar with MATLAB and electrical control systems

The role may require traveling up to 10% to support testing facilities.
