This position will support the design, development and certification of a new class of all-electric aircraft. As theRigs Manager in the Test and Flight Operations team, you will be working closely with other Systems Test Engineers and Integrated Product Team Leads as well as cognizant systems engineers and the certification group to validate and verify a revolutionary new aircraft design.
Wisk recognizes the challenges that the UAM industry faces with regards the certification path for our vehicles. Why we need you

  • The successful candidate is someone who has been responsible for generating a test capability for Wisk that will be spread across component level items, up to a fully integrated aircraft level item. The role will need work across the company and also interact with external resources. It is expected that the successful applicant will have a strong background in Rig development and will bring this experience with a desire to make Wisk an industry leader in this capability. In this role, the candidate must be an effective people manager as well as technically capable. Able to work across all company functions to achieve exceptional results.

What you will do:

  • Build and grow the functional capability to ensure that the team meets/exceeds the company needs: hire, develop, train, coach and mentor team members. 
  • Responsible for employees goals setting, performance reviews and personal development plans
  • Ensure the development of technical expertise in relation to rig design and test.
  • Continue to develop and install world class processes, tools & capabilities to support company needs.
  • Manage the deployment of resources into the programs. The company is currently running multiple programs.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the rig test function meets technical standards and on time/budget to support program needs. 
  • Escalation path for the program when the program is not being supported.
  • The role owns and allocates budget for the discipline focusing on labor, tools and training.
  • Internal to the company deals primarily with Integrated Product Team Leads other functional managers and subject matter experts. 

What you have done:

  • Suitable engineering qualifications to be able to fulfill the role.
  • Experience in leading or managing teams that have designed and commissioned integrated aircraft level rigs to support certification programs.
  • Years of experience will be commensurate with the developed skills, likely to need 12+ years experience to meet minimum requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a functional team to support multiple programs.
  • Aerospace OEM experience.
