Head of Product (Agriculutral Biological Products)

About the Role

The Head of Product will manage a team of functional specialists rolling out microbial technologies for carbon sequestration in agriculture. The manager will have responsibility for delivering the Loam microbial product portfolio in the US. You will report to the Chief Product Officer and work closely with your international peers across Loam.

Responsibilities include;

• Take accountability for Loam’s biological product portfolio delivery in the US agricultural market
• Oversee and implement standardised product field validation processes in country
• Oversee and manage in-country product extension and product launches
• Set and drive accountability for product budgets and projects
• Facilitate project teams and enable feedback flow to and from the R&D function
• Ensure consistent engagement with the Loam IP team to enable patenting and appropriate intellectual protections
• Proactively identify product opportunities related to product scope that help farmers to improve their profitability and resilience

Requirements

About You

You have a proven track record of product delivery for agriculture and a drive to create impact. You have strong managerial experience and are comfortable leading large teams. You have strong commercial acumen and take a rigorous approach to product validation, data collection, product registration and product launch. You have a background in the technical areas of microbiology, soil science, plant pathology or plant sciences.

Your professional profile includes;

• 10+ years of experience in managing agricultural product roll-out or commercially focused R&D teams in agricultural input organisations
• Bachelor, MSc or above in technical area related to agriculture, agronomy or plant sciences
• Proven experience managing teams and operations
• Demonstrated product launch experience
• Sound commercial agronomic and farming systems implementation knowledge
• Confidence engaging with grower audiences and grower groups
• Very confident people and team manager, with the ability to drive delivery in distributed teams
• Willingness to relocate or travel to St Paul, MN
