Job Description

The Logical Buildings platform helps thousands of residential and commercial customers earn (and save) money and reduce their carbon footprint.

We have two products: SmartKit AI and GridRewards.

GridRewards is a CES award-winning app which allows individuals to:

  • Get paid by utility companies to reduce their energy usage during key hours of the summer.
  • Track their historical energy consumption, cost and carbon footprint.
  • Get personalized energy-saving tips.
  • Use near-real-time energy data to reduce their bill.
  • Track the real-time carbon footprint of their energy usage.

SmartKit AI is a web dashboard and mobile app that allows building owners and management teams to save money on the energy use of large residential (e.g. apartment), commercial, and industrial buildings. We install IoT sensors that help us optimize and manage energy loads, as well as provide real-time insight into building system performance.

The role

We are a small and growing team of committed folks building products that have real impact on sustainability and slowing climate change.

Our products are design-led. Backend and API developers work closely with frontend developers and designers to make sure that we’re creating the highest-quality user experience possible.

We’re in need of a product manager to help us distribute work in the best way possible to keep the team happy and unblocked, to turn product direction into implementable stories, to keep an eye on the product roadmap, and to help us balance business needs with the best possible user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from end-to-end
    • Gather requirements from product team, and understand business goals.
    • Work with the software team to translate our product direction into tasks.
    • Organize tasks by priority.
    • Assign and follow-up on project work in order to keep team on track.
    • Facilitate daily stand-up, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings.
  • Help your team do their best work
    • Understand what makes each of your teammates happy and productive.
    • Protect your team’s time by helping to manage outside requests so projects remain focused and on track.
    • Keep teams and stakeholders in the loop.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a software/technical product manager
  • A basic understanding of the technical process of creating a digital product. You don’t need to be a developer, but we want to be able to speak the same language.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills — we’re a remote-first team, so being able to communicate kindly and effectively is crucial.
  • Being someone others want to work with.
