We are looking for an experienced individual to serve as the Safety Data Science Lead within Wisk.  This role reports to the SMS and Operations Safety Manager. The role of this position is to design, develop, and implement Wisk safety data science processes, tools, and initiatives in accordance with the Company SMS and international standards and best practices. The Safety Data Science Lead will work to ensure that our Wisk safety data and analysis program meets Company safety objectives.

Requirements:

• Act as the Safety Data Science Lead for the Wisk safety program.
• Lead safety analyses initiatives and conduct safety risk assessments to aid in the development of safe operations of the Wisk service. 
• Interface with both internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to Quality, Manufacturing, Operations, and Maintenance to ensure cohesion of safety data and information products into the SMS.
• Develop and support network-level analytics to model system design and integration to allow for optimization of system response in the face of uncertain operational parameters.
• Support the development of certification artifacts for verification & validation of safety-critical autonomous systems in accordance with industry best practices.
• Model and analyze safety data across multiple domains and stakeholder groups to proactively mitigate risk.
• Investigate and analyze accidents and incidents involving Wisk products and make specific recommendations to correct actual or potential hazards.
• Foster Just Culture and be a leader for company promotion of the SMS.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Demonstrated skills in data analytics and visualization techniques for fostering and developing consensus among diverse stakeholders
• Ability to develop and derive data-driven insights for improving safety and quality from real-world data sets.
• Able to change directions with the needs of the work environment and take-on additional responsibilities based on safety program needs 

Experience and Education:

• BS/BEng degree from an accredited College or University in an aviation/engineering related field or equivalent related work experience. 
• Master’s degree or other continued education in Mathematics, Analytics, and/or Data science from an accredited College or University or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Three-to-five years experience in aviation with experience in Safety and/or Quality.
• Experience dealing with safety and environmental laws, rules, and regulations. 
• Extensive experience in safety risk management and mitigation.
