About the Role:  

The Marketing team at Planet is seeking a new Apprentice to act as our Science Publications Manager!  Your mission will be to keep track of the ever-growing list of publications coming out of Planet’s various Science Programs and helping to translate them for non-academic audiences. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, creative thinker, and a great communicator. You will utilize your good working knowledge of remote sensing combined with communications skills to unlock scientific advances with Planet data for our Sales, Product, and other relevant teams.

Impact You’ll Own:

Our Marketing team is looking for an enthusiastic Science Publications Manager who will: 

  • Monitor for new scientific publications that use Planet imagery to populate a running database of articles for internal and external use
  • Flag articles of particular interest to Planet’s mission and products for further review
  • Help to maintain metrics on publications across Planet’s Science Programs
  • Perform literature review across the publications database to help understand where and how Planet data is being used across the global research community

What You Bring:

  • Basic knowledge or strong interest in remote sensing 
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor/Master degree course for another year
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Tech savvy: able to learn new software without much instruction
  • Self-starter who works on own initiative with strong communication skills
  • Highly organized; able to prioritize and work under tight deadlines
  • Team-player with strong interpersonal skills

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Knowledge of database management tools
  • Fluent in written and spoken languages other than English (priority: Spanish, Portuguese, German, French)
