Job Description

What you will do
Join us in helping companies of all sizes and industries take their own climate action today. We are dedicated to working as a team towards our common goal: improving lives. 
 
Become part of our Carbon Offset & Green Energy Services (COGES) team in Munich, where we support our clients in selecting or developing certified, high-quality projects to offset their unabated emissions. 

  • You identify carbon removal project options in the biochar sector to be certified within the framework of the Voluntary Carbon Market
  • You communicate with partners regarding their CO2-removal (CDR) technologies and develop projects to generate carbon removal/reduction credits
  • You perform biomass to biochar CO2 reduction calculations
  • You map the existing biochar producing companies, waste biomass utilization companies and keep the ClimatePartner team updated
  • You provide benchmarks of the carbon credits sale and potential
  • You keep up with the market knowledge through the preparation of a business model for biochar at ClimatePartner
Who you are
  • You hold a masters degree with focus on the study of Biochar and its applications or have comparable practical experience
  • You have 2+ years professional experience in environmental management, sustainability project development or related fields
  • Your strengths are good time management, communication, team work and planning
  • Your experience lies in understanding greenhouse gas accounting, biochar calculations, standards for CO2 certificates (Verra, Gold Standard etc); knowledge of the carbon markets is a plus
  • You provide detailed knowledge of production of biochar on an industrial scale, quality analysis, field application in different regions and on different crops
  • You are self-motivated and engaged for the mitigation of the climate crisis
  • You are fluent in spoken and scientific written English
