We are a located in San Jose, California with a new energy storage technology that will allow electric vehicles to outperform internal combustion cars. We have enabled a step-change in performance with a different chemistry and cell architecture that also benefits safety.
Are you passionate for test, excited about new material technology and driven for success? Then we do have a position for you. In response to fast-growing need for data, we are building our material development team. We are seeking an authoritative and diligent material development engineer to join our existing team.
What you will do:Develop new materials and process, and integrate them into a robust and scalable electrochemical devices;Characterize the physical and (electro-)chemical properties of these new materials using innovative analytical methods;Design and complete experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of the newly developed materials and integration processes;Collaborate with a team of scientists and engineers to develop processing methods for groundbreaking battery materials.
Knowledge, skills & abilities:Share a passion for our mission;Have a solid understanding of materials sciences and chemistry fundamentals;Rely on data to support technical decisions and ability to clearly explain technical issues;Proactive to challenge and learn new things;Possess a high level of attention to details;Enjoy working as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team with strong documentation and social skills.
Minimum requirements:You have a Bachelor's degree in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related technical field.Hands on experience of working in the lab.
Any of the following are a plus:– Experience with Statistical Process Control;– Experience in physio-chemical analytical methods;– Working or intern experience in inorganic ceramic material synthesis and processing for battery applications;
Physical Requirements:–May work with airtight isolation chambers and/or wear neoprene or vinyl gloves for 50-60% of the time;–May frequently reach above shoulder heights and below the waist;–May be required to use hand or power tools;–Ability to stoop, kneel, crawl, lift, push and extend arms;
