ABOUT THE POSITION

We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join our finance team. This person is organized, detail-oriented, and excels at managing a large tax compliance calendar. This person is passionate about the type of work that Generate is doing and is looking to apply their experience to help scale a rapidly growing business.

What you will be doing at Generate Capital as the Tax Manager

• Manage the tax compliance calendar for federal and state corporate tax filings, partnership tax filings, CA and NY LLC tax filings, and various other state and local tax fillings alongside third-party tax preparers
• Review year end and quarterly tax provision calculations and Income Taxes footnote
• Maintain robust internal documentation of all tax matters
• Coordinate with external advisors on corporate tax modeling and forecasting
• General tax troubleshooting and support
• Assist in tracking and managing the annual tax budget
• Work alongside the Head of Tax in designing and building out the tax team
• Review the tax implications of new and existing transactions
• You will also have the opportunity to work on corporate tax planning and structuring, partnership tax, and international tax as Generate expands its global footprint

• A demonstrated passion for, or commitment to, our mission
• 6+ years’ combined experience at a Big 4 accounting firm / in-house
• Renewable energy and subchapter K experience preferred
• Familiarity with corporate tax provisions
• Organized and detail oriented, capable of managing a complex tax compliance calendar
• Experience reviewing federal and state income tax returns
• Independent, self-starter, must be familiar with tax research tools
• Functional tax modeling experience preferred

Education Requirements

• Minimum BS/BA in Accountancy
• CPA license and/or JD / LL.M
