Purpose Driven Position

CarbonCure is looking for an Accounting Clerk to add to our growing finance team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Clerk will play a critical role in enhancing the effectiveness and the efficiency of the daily operations of the finance department.  The Accounting Clerk role requires someone with education in full cycle bookkeeping, period-end closes, accounts payable, accounts receivable, HST reporting, employee expense reporting, the ability to multi-task and a passion for detail.

 

The successful candidate must be motivated, demonstrate a positive attitude and have a track record of being able to function in a fast-paced, dynamic, and rewarding work environment.


What you'll be doing

  • Day-to-day accounting, including bookkeeping & full cycle accounting
  • Preparation of month & quarter end reconciliations
  • Management, processing, and detailed coding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, employee expenses, and sales taxes
  • Reconcile vendor accounts, investigate and respond to vendor inquiries.
  • Assistance in the annual budgeting process
  • Support the annual audit process
  • Other ad hoc duties as required


What you'll need to succeed

    • High attention to and passion for detail
    • Strong problem solving, decision making and analytical skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
    • Willingness and comfort with taking initiative
    • Comfortable working in a multi-currency environment
    • Experience in using Netsuite, Xero, and Expensify considered an asset
    • A well-developed sense of humour


      Qualifications

      • Post-secondary education, Community College Diploma/Certificate in Accounting/Administration/Business diploma, or equivalent experience
