Purpose Driven Position

CarbonCure is looking for an engineering technician to develop field ready CO2 injection systems for CarbonCure’s Reclaimed Water technology. Reporting to the Senior Director of Product Development, this job entails wiring, cutting, drilling, welding and assembling of hydraulic fittings, as well as installing systems in the field. CarbonCure is growing and evolving quickly as a company, so the selected technician will also aid in developing training tools, diagrams, and improve efficiencies of existing processes. This job requires attention to detail, and the ability to perform repetitive tasks with focus and consistency.


What you'll need to succeed

    • Degree in field such as: Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a Diploma in mechanical, electrical, or electro-mechanical technology with commensurate industry experience 
    • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
    • Ability to produce quality work within tight deadlines, and comfortable working in a highly variable environment typical with start-up companies
    • Detail oriented with a passion for getting the job done
    • Strong communication skills; ability to take direction and translate to other team members
    • Ability to think methodically, to design, plan, modify if required, and manage projects.
    • Ability to plan and prioritize workload to achieve pre-determined goals.
    • Knowledge of concrete testing, cement, admixtures and CO2 would be an asset.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Entry level understanding of computer languages Ladder Logic, Python, and C is an asset
    • Adaptability, at ease with continuous change that is the hallmark of a technology company
    • Comfortable working with a small team and helping it grow


    What you'll be doing

    • Wire electrical components for a PLC and HMI following wiring diagrams
    • Programming of PLC software
    • Assemble steel structures and hydraulic piping systems with fittings, valves, and sensors based on standard operating procedures
    • Improve the manufacturing process by increasing efficiency and strategically outsourcing assembly work, as required
    • Create electrical & mechanical schematics and diagrams
    • Create tools for training future employees and co-op students
    • Coordinate commissioning schedule and supplier deliveries
    • Perform field installation & commissioning activities
    • Replace and repair broken components in field systems
