Day-to-day tasks may include basic part design, fabrication in our on-site machine shop, measurements and experimentation, and documentation and communication to the team. You will take ownership of test vehicles while working closely with other engineers on the team and will be involved in every step from experimental design to sensor selection, building the test setup, data acquisition, and writing reports to summarize results. The role may also include opportunities to participate in cell builds, teardowns, and contributing to design projects as needed. You should be willing and eager to ask questions, test out ideas and assumptions, and work on a highly cross-functional, fast-paced team.

What You'll Do:

  • Prototype designs using in-house fabrication methods (3D printing, sheet metal bending, laser cutting, etc.)
  • Stress test proposed designs and provide recommendations to the team on their applicability to our product
  • Participate in cell builds and teardowns alongside technicians and engineers as needed
  • Work with engineers and technicians to spec, design, and build test stands
  • Work with Battery Module team members on various projects based on your skills/interests and Form’s top priorities

What You'll Bring:

  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong engineering fundamentals
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks or other CAD package
  • Enthusiastic about working in a shop/lab environment
  • “Just try it” attitude
  • Familiarity with basic hand & power tools
  • Strong team player passionate about climate tech and our product

  • While prior experience with any of the following topics is a plus, it is not required, and we encourage candidates who wish to learn by doing to apply.
  • Fabrication experience (mill, lathe, woodworking, 3D printing…)
  • Repair experience (bikes, cars, home/building…)
  • Strong Solidworks modeling and/or technical drawing skills, including GD&T
  • Electronics experience (soldering, multimeter, using power supplies, etc.)
