We are seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer – CNC to support the manufacturing and engineering teams. This position offers a great opportunity to interact with a diverse set of team members to help advance our mission to decarbonize the material future.

You will be based in our office in San Carlos, CA, or Natick, CA, and report to our Manager of Manufacturing Process Engineering.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Program and cut high quality, precision parts and tooling in a variety of materials
  • Handle material from rough stock to finished part
  • Understanding of DOE (Design of Experiments), GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), SPC (Statistical Process Control), and subtractive CNC fabrication techniques
  • Understanding of high feed milling, high speed machining, and high performance machining concepts
  • Set up and troubleshoot CNC Processes and provide corrective actions
  • Experience with form tool design and end mill coatings
  • Experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturing) feedback to design engineering teams to optimize for production efficiency
  • Inspection of fabricated parts using state-of-the-art metrology equipment
  • Develop standard work instructions for any recurring work

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience supporting new products from a manufacturing engineering or supply base engineering perspective
  • Experience using Autodesk Fusion 360 for Manufacturing workflows is preferred. Experience with HSMWorks/Solidworks, MasterCAM, and/or Delmia is acceptable.
  • Experience with macro and template-based programming
  • Ability to lift 50lbs unaided
