We are seeking a Principal Corporate Counsel who will be the primary partner to our business leaders and provide strategic, balanced and risk-navigating support in several key areas (regulatory, quality control, product development, sourcing, manufacturing, and logistics). This role will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal contracts and mitigating risks for this high-growth company.  This role reports to the Vice President, Interim General Counsel. 

Why You’re Rad (about you):

  • 12+ years of experience working as a practicing lawyer in either an in-house legal department or a global law firm
  • Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating supply chain and other contracts
  • Demonstrated experience in consumer product safety, labeling, quality control and regulatory compliance
  • Prior experience working with global teams
  • Has worked closely to collaborate with outside counsel on various projects Self-starter with strong bias for action, and a high degree of professional ethics and personal accountability
  • Ability to develop strong, collaborative relationships with local and global business partners at all levels
  • Strong communication and project management skills with a strict attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple deals happening simultaneously, often on tight deadlines

Additional Requirements

  • J.D. from an ABA accredited law school and active bar membership
  • Excellent judgment, able to make smart decisions in the face of ambiguity
  • Willingness to jump in and do whatever needs doing, even if not in your area of expertise
  • Proficient in computer applications such as, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, G-Suite, and Adobe Acrobat

You get bonus points for:

  • Prior experience working with/in high-growth organizations or a DTC brand
  • Experience dealing with unique legal issues arising from the manufacturing, sale and marketing of consumer products
  • Knowledge of international agreements
  • Supply chain and related safety/compliance experience
  • Humility with a curiosity for an evolving industry and a good sense of humor

  • Supporting the Supply Chain, Quality Control, and Product organizations on the design, manufacture, and sale of Rad’s award-winning ebikes
  • Partnering with the business teams to create policies that govern how we operate 
  • Drafting, negotiating, and analyzing agreements related to supply chain, logistics, product development, professional services, confidentiality, and intellectual property
  • Providing DTC-related legal advice in areas such as consumer protection and product liability, developing legal templates for use by the Rad legal team and our business colleagues, and assisting with the management of consumer claims
  • Additional duties as required
