Sr. Staff System Architect, Smart Hardware - 20194

Team charter: The Smart Hardware team is responsible for delivering highly available, high quality systems to enable NIO’s Autonomous driving vehicles. Our mission is to provide the next generation of hardware solutions for NIO cars. This includes but not limited to compute, infotainment, sensing as well as vehicle controls and safety system compute. What the team works on:Autonomy, vehicle networking, sensor, and digital system hardware architecturesEarly design, development, integration, and test of autonomous compute, vehicle networking, infotainment, and sensing hardwareVehicle and Safety Controller HW and related functionsAutonomy compute communication (sensing, compute, and controller       inter-ECU communication)General R&D activities for the future of automotiveInfotainment system architecture and design
 

Responsibilities

• Lead to define the hardware architecture of NIO automated driving system and infotainment experience.
• Work cross functionally with product team and the software divisions to align Hardware architecture with vehicle experience requirement and AD requirement.
• Work with system design team to complete feasibility and proof of concept study.
• Hand down system design requirement to design team and supervise design implementation to meet safety and performance goals.

Qualifications

• Excellent EE and IC design fundamentals, BS/MS with 15+ years of work experience
• Extensive experience in the development and implementation of high compute and networking systems
• Must be able to analyze system, and in hardware level architectures for compliance to ASIL safety levels
• Experience working on automotive, robotic, aerospace, high reliability or safety critical electronics hardware is required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience providing guidance and leadership to design engineers and supporting teams
