Job OverviewThe Senior Accountant supporting Financial Reporting &amp; Compliance is a highly analytical and detail-oriented role on TerraCycle’s finance team. This role is a critical pillar in our corporate accounting function, specifically focusing on the integrity of our financial statements, adherence to technical accounting standards, and maintaining a robust internal control environment. The ideal candidate thrives in the "gray areas" of accounting—interpreting complex guidance and translating it into clear, compliant reporting. The role will serve as the subject matter expert for GAAP/IFRS compliance, ensuring that every figure we report is backed by sound logic and impeccable documentation. Primary Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.</li><li>Draft formal disclosures, footnotes, and Management Discussion &amp; Analysis (MD&amp;A) reports.</li><li>Perform comprehensive variance analysis to identify and explain trends in financial performance.</li><li>Research and document the company’s position on complex accounting issues, such as Revenue Recognition (ASC 606), Lease Accounting (ASC 842), and equity-based compensation.</li><li>Monitor new FASB/SEC pronouncements to assess their impact on the organization and lead implementation efforts for new standards.</li><li>Maintain and update the Corporate Accounting Policy Manual.</li><li>Ensure rigorous compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, managing the design and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR).</li><li>Coordinate with external auditors during year-end audits and quarterly reviews to ensure timely and successful filing.</li><li>Support special projects</li><li>Additional requests as assigned by management</li></ul>RequirementsDesired Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance</li><li>4–6 years of progressive accounting experience</li><li>CPA License (active) is strongly preferred</li><li>A mix of Big 4/Public Accounting and private industry experience is highly desirable</li><li>Deep mastery of US GAAP and IFRS</li><li>Advanced proficiency in Excel (Power Query, Pivot Tables, Complex Modeling)</li><li>Experience with Tier 1 ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle), financial consolidation tools (e.g. Adaptive planning / Workday) and reporting software (e.g., Workiva, BlackLine)</li><li>The ability to explain technical accounting concepts to non-financial stakeholders</li><li>A high degree of integrity and professional skepticism</li><li>Great attention to detail</li></ul>  Compensation<ul><li>Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, AD&amp;D insurance available after 30 days</li><li>401(k) plan with company match available after 30 days</li><li>22 PTO + 2 VTO + 9 paid holidays per year</li><li>Hybrid work schedule</li><li>Year-round Flex Fridays</li><li>Catered vegetarian lunch available in the office M-F</li><li>Casual office environment</li></ul> TerraCycle is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to  Diversity, Equality and Inclusion.  Note: International candidates must be eligible to work in their country of employment.  At this time TerraCycle does not provide for visa sponsorships.
