Job Description

Edacious is seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and motivated Senior Engineer in instrumentation and measurements to develop new advanced instrumentation and embedded software to measure food properties. You will support the 3-person engineering team in driving the company’s effort to design, develop, validate, and deploy its suite of instruments for food analysis. 

  • The work will require knowledge and hands-on implementation capability on embedded systems, instrumentation and testing, signal, and system analysis.
  • The major responsibility will consist in the development of embedded software, testing and debugging instruments, and methods validation.
  • The responsibilities also include assisting product development in supporting presentations, marketing material, customer demonstrations, and training in the proper use of our instrumentation.

You ideally have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, physics, computer science or equivalent engineering curriculum.
  • Advanced experience in developing python and C/C++ code for embedded platforms and single-board Linux systems, including parallelization and multi-processing.
  • Experience with optical systems and optical spectroscopy including NIR, NIR-VIS and Raman spectroscopy.
  • Experience with electrical impedance measurements and methods.
  • Experience with laboratory instruments such as dynamic signal analyzer, spectrum analyzer, digital scopes, soldering stations, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of biology, chemistry, biochemistry, electro-chemistry, material properties and testing are required.
  • Advanced knowledge of digital signal processing including data acquisition and control, filtering, interpolation, FFT and power estimation.
  • Experience with ECAD and MCAD systems would be a great advantage.
  • Experience with common machine learning techniques would be a plus.
  • Experience with user interfaces, web and mobile applications would also be a plus.

Compensation, Benefits & Other Details

  • Market salary and equity are both commensurate with expertise with an aim to benchmark to 70th percentile of the Boston metro area compensation.
  • We offer unlimited PTO, sick leave, and paid caregiver leave. 6 weeks primary caregiver leave, 2 weeks secondary caregiver.
  • Other benefits include healthcare, dental, and vision insurance, 401k, and other benefits.
  • The role is based in the Boston Metro Area as the role requires team collaboration on the development of instrumentation between our offices in Lincoln and Marlborough. It is expected that you have a drivers license to visit both locations.
  • Candidates will be required to go through a background check and provide references from past work experience.
