About EvergrowAt Evergrow, we seek to build and sustain a carbon-neutral world. We plan to do so by unlocking solutions which reduce 1 gigaton of CO2e by 2030, scaling to 1 gigaton per year every year thereafter.
Specifically, we are developing a suite of products and services for decarbonization project developers. We are starting with a financial product that shields developers from carbon credit price volatility, helping them access the capital needed to get their projects off the ground. We will be quickly expanding this suite of products and services so that we can become the ultimate support system for decarbonization developers.
Our team has spent time at leading companies (e.g., Google, BCG, McKinsey & Co., D.E. Shaw, Pinterest) and academic institutions (e.g., Columbia, MIT, Stanford, Princeton). We are backed by leading investors from Silicon Valley and beyond, including XYZ Venture Capital, Congruent Ventures, First Round Capital, Garuda Ventures, My Climate Journey, Skyview Ventures, and founders and senior executives from Plaid, Brex, Twitch, Instacart, Charm Industrial, Living Carbon, and Bridgewater Associates.

About this Role
Evergrow is looking for an analytical, data-driven Head of Research to guide our long-term product development and ensure we are driving impact. In this role, you will report directly to our CEO and be responsible for developing Evergrow's research strategy and function, as well as defining key research questions and sharing results.
Ideally, you bring experience conducting high-quality, high-impact mixed methods research and communicating results to a wide range of audiences. You also bring fluency with qualitative, quantitative, and market research methods, and the ability to coach and direct researchers in the utilization of a range of methodologies and approaches. You will have built research teams and systems at scale, as well as hired and mentored high-achieving researchers. Lastly, you will have experience partnering closely with senior leadership, including C-suite executives.

Is this role only full-time? Can I work remotely? This role is full-time and based on-site in San Francisco. We're a small, tight-knit team right now and prefer to work all in one place for now so we can go faster, build trust, and solve complex problems together. That being said, we know life happens, so we've reserved one day a week to work from home as needed.
Will you help me to relocate? Yes! If you're based elsewhere in the U.S. (or internationally and U.S. visa eligible), we're happy to help you move to San Francisco and to cover relocation costs.

You will be responsible for ...
- Developing a vision and strategy for research at Evergrow, including a plan for scaling research which balances immediate business needs and the growth of a best-in-class research function
- Shaping the company strategy by identifying the most important questions to answer and connecting the dots across all research streams of work
- Communicating learnings to key stakeholders, including our customers, capital partners, and others within the decarbonization finance space
- Building a high-performing research team by hiring, advising, and mentoring high-performing researchers, working closely with them on their projects and priorities
- Building a world-class distributed research system which enables teams across the company to easily conduct high-quality research on their own
This might be for you if you have...
- An advanced degree in finance, economics, data science, or a related field
- 8-10+ years of experience in research, ideally within finance and its intersections with climate. This can include market research, economics, finance, social science, etc.
- The ability to turn data into a comprehensive, compelling story - you can gather data and translate these insights into crisp messages for a range of audiences
- Comms and public speaking experience, ideally including experience as a spokesperson during media interviews
- Strong interpersonal and, especially, verbal communication skills to persuasively deliver information to our customers, capital partners, and other key stakeholders
- A strong, demonstrated desire to work on climate
