Vehicle Dynamics Development Engineer

At Zoox we have set the goal to provide our customers with a premium ride experience while using our fully autonomous vehicles. You will work with a team of world-class engineers with diverse backgrounds such in robotics, control, and vehicle engineering.
You will take ownership of the Vehicle Dynamics performance, working with physical and virtual testing, providing direction to the various chassis areas, vehicle control engineers, CAE team, and other Vehicle Integration Attribute areas to assure an excellent vehicle ride quality, a responsive and controllable robot platform that provides confidence and trust to the occupants. Responsibilities

• You will perform vehicle suspension tuning and calibration in order to deliver the Zoox ride and handling targets
• You will collaborate closely with the design team to help our supplier partners improve their ability to deliver components for ride and handling
• You will provide feedback on the suspension design, control, and architecture to ensure that Zoox attribute targets are met
• You will perform vehicle dynamics development tuning (e.g., suspension, tires, mounts, braking, and dynamics controls)
• You will create processes for ride and handling, methodologies, and metrics
• You will support active safety performance development and validation to be on par with the automotive industry

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• 6+ years of automotive or related experience
• Extensive experience in vehicle dynamics testing and instrumentation 
• Solid MBD tool skills to predict full vehicle and system interactions with experience in vehicle test methods, instrumentation, and data post-processing

Vaccine Mandate
Employees working in this position will be required to have received a single dose of the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine OR have completed the two-dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccine series. In addition, employees will be required to receive a COVID-19 booster vaccine by the earlier of (1) April 15 or (2) within two months of becoming eligible for the booster vaccine.
