We are looking for an IT Infrastructure & Network Architect to join our team. Thegoal of an IT Infrastructure & Network Architect at Wisk is to ensure that aviationsafety, security, and performance standards are interpreted and applied to thedevelopment of a compliant IT network and infrastructure environment. You will bepart of the IT & Product engineering team that is charged with innovating andrealizing the communications and data processing infrastructure to bring about thefuture of electric autonomous aviation.

Why we need you:

  • With that vision in mind, we are looking for an IT Infrastructure & Network Architect to join our IT team. The goal of the IT Infrastructure & Network Architect at Wisk is to drive all IT infrastructure Design & Deployment towards building the first fully autonomous all-electric aircraft that performs and operates safely in an urban air-mobility environment. In support of this goal, you will be part of the IT & Product teams that are charged with designing and building both the aircraft and operational infrastructure.

  • The successful candidate is a highly knowledgeable and experienced technical SME who has direct hands-on experience designing and building highly reliable and business critical production IT & Network infrastructure with the technical breadth necessary to interface with product engineering, Enterprise IT & COTs solution providers . In this role, the candidate must be proactive, forward thinking, a critical thinker and self-motivated with the ability to define and apply broad technical knowledge & experience novel problems alongside like-minded engineers.

What you will do:

  • As part of the IT organization you will act as an IT Infrastructure & Network
  • Architect for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous
  • UAM market.
  • You will take part in Developing the network and infrastructure concepts and
  • requirements to meet our IT network needs and assist system engineers in a
  • functional breakdown and modeling of the IT network and systems
  • environment for the product network.
  • You will support Systems Engineers, Safety & Reliability to provide validation
  • towards Safe & Reliable IT infrastructure.
  • You will help coordinate efforts to partner and co-develop with IT on future
  • standards, operational best practices and security.
  • You will take part in technology trade off and implementation projects as IT
  • Infrastructure & Network SME.
  • In some areas, you will be working closely with other engineers, corporate
  • IT, and operations product managers to innovate and realize the
  • communications and data processing infrastructure to bring about the future
  • of electric autonomous aviation.

What you have done:

  • Hands on expertise with high reliability and highly secure local and wide area network designs
  • Configuration management experience for IT network and infrastructure
  • Experience designing scalable mission critical distributed IT Infrastructure to meet rigorous compliance standards
  • Firm grasp of enterprise network design & information security
  • Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, GRE, IPSec, VRRP, Load Balancing, and Chassis Cluster
  • Expert level knowledge of IP routing, particularly BGP, IS-IS, OSPF and understanding of Internet ecosystem
  • Experience interfacing internal networks with external partner networks
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, to independently assess risk, and to make critical decisions
  • Ability to move quickly in a fast-paced startup setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills

Desired:

  • Experience with safety critical aviation IT systems.
  • Experience working with the PCI-DSS compliance network.
  • Familiar with system engineering concepts for functional modeling and requirements management.
  • Ability to appreciate technology trade offs between COTs and bottom up design.
  • A healthy sense of adventure.
