Edacious is on a mission to build a new food system based on quality.  To that end, we are building technology to differentiate food quality from farm to fork with the goal of nourishing people and planet. About the Job:Expert level understanding of the analytical instrumentation for food and nutraceutical analysis including any combination of the following instruments GC-MS, LC-MS, with some experience with ICP, UV-vis, Raman Spectroscopy.  This includes adapting and developing new methods that increase efficiency, reduce the use of organic solvents and the need for derivatization. As the Research Specialist you will be responsible for training technical and other research team members, overseeing the maintenance and functioning of all laboratory instrumentation and reporting directly to the CSO.

Key Responsiblities

  • Operation of LC-MS and GC-MS; maintain and deliver expert level technical and application knowledge of these instruments.
  • Expert level knowledge of instrumentation with ability to train team members to the same, or support level of operational expertise.
  • Work collaboratively with all company team members, and research clients.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop an integrated reporting system.
  • Collaborate with Research Clients on methodology to achieve understandable and actionable results.
  • Provide applications and technical support to R&D clients.
  • Use video conferencing and remote demonstrations and/or client training.
  • Actively engage in monitoring new industry, application, and analytical techniques relating to food.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Food Science, Analytical chemistry, Biochemistry, Bioengineering or related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of relevant applications or research experience.
  • In depth experience with LC-MS and GC-MS technologies.
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of, and successful track record of developing methods and matrix applications related to food and nutritional analysis.
  • Possess a professional network and toolset that will enable immediate results.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a multi-generational, and interdisciplinary team.
  • Enthusiasm for advanced understanding of the food and nutritional ecosystem.
