Job Overview

There is tremendous growth in the circular economy industry, including renewable fuels and technologies to chemically recycle plastic waste materials that previously could not be recycled through mechanical processes. This growth in the circular economy has been accompanied by increased interest in certification programs designed for this industry, including ISCC EU, ISCC PLUS, RSB Advanced Products, and other similar certification initiatives.

This position requires a commercial and technical background in agricultural or industrial processes and circular materials, as well as a passion to work on environmental sustainability issues. The successful candidate is self-motivated and comfortable working independently, as well as having a technical background in the concepts around industrial processing and quality systems. The person will support our existing ISCC and RSB certification teams, primarily conducting audits (on-site and remotely), technical/quality reviews, and supporting in the administration of the program.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Conduct Certification Audits

  • Plan and execute site audits of companies in the renewable fuels and circular materials industries.
  • Complete and deliver audit reports and related checklists on time and according to program requirements.

Technical Review

  • Review incoming audit reports to ensure consistent quality of audit checklists & reports.
  • Interact with clients and audit teams to follow up on nonconformity closure when necessary.

Staff Management

  • Work with regional SCS staff based in Asia and Latin America to support technical review and service delivery according to SCS standards

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree in a technical field (e.g. chemistry, engineering, environmental science, or related), or a minimum two years of experience working in a related sector (Masters level education preferred);
  • One year experience working with quality management systems;
  • Complete fluency in English and work experience that involves professional written communication;
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills;
  • Proficient with business software including Outlook, Word, Excel and database management;
  • Strong customer service and teamwork orientation; and
  • Initiative, good judgment, and ability to work independently under pressure in a changing environment.
  • Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by date of hire to be considered, unless precluded by local and national jurisdiction. Pursuant to local and national law--proof of vaccination required. Medical and religious accommodations will also be considered.

Physical Requirements

  • This is an office-based job. Sit 6+ hours per day. Keyboarding 6+ hours per day. Must be able to speak and listen in person and on the phone.
