Role DescriptionWe are looking for a Project Engineer to help our company develop a world class manufacturing facility plan.  You will be responsible for organizing and executing all activities associated with capital projects in a heavy industrial environment. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Capital Projects, you will provide multidisciplinary technical direction and project management from conception to completion.  The position will be a key driver of Site Development projects which will take us from Pilot scale to a medium and subsequently growing Manufacturing footprint over the course of several years and projects. Further engagement will include working with all internal stakeholders, ensuring excellent stakeholder management in areas of Site Operations.  Construction management and site selection support will also be a major focus,  including due diligence management and vendor selection and management.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage and report progress for capital projects throughout their entire lifecycle.  
  • Coordinate activities such as hosting OAC Meetings, establishing a communication cadence with multiple vendors and implementing productive virtual meeting environments. 
  • Plan and schedule project execution, order materials from company-approved suppliers, track timing and cost, manage construction/installation contractors, and communicate project updates and needs to management. 
  • Ensure all document and project controls are established prior to start of capital projects.
  • Integrate with field activities and ensure alignment with drawings, specifications, and construction quality; including collecting field measurements, writing requests for information (RFIs), and providing as-built redlines or other documentation or construction administration activities.
  • Effectively and proactively communicate project needs, changes, and status to internal and external team members.
  • Support construction with change management, takeoffs, and progress reporting.
  • Providing construction with engineering/architectural design input/interpretation.

What You'll Bring:

  • 1-3 or more years of project engineering experience within a heavy industrial manufacturing operation or construction management background.
  • Proficient with Google Suite, Slack, Bluebeam Revu, and various scheduling software.
  • Ability to work with large teams while managing multiple portfolio projects simultaneously; consistently driving projects to completion.
  • Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills delivering communication with precision and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to inform project decisions.
  • Ability to manage through fast moving, start up challenges with ease and comfort.
  • Extremely good at maintaining situational awareness and delivering both tactical and strategic solutions where applicable.
  • Battery Manufacturing industry experience preferred, but not required.
