Shop Technician

Our multidisciplinary team of world-class scientists, engineers and maritime operators is working as fast as possible while the world is burning. 
This is an entry-level, full-time position. It is an opportunity to learn many different things that could allow you to move up and fill a fabricator, CNC operator, or welder role in the future.
Expected Salary Range: $20-24 per hour.

You Will:

• Grind aluminum to prep for welding
• Deburr parts when they come off of the plasma table
• Shop upkeep: sweeping, organizing scrap material, taking ownership of the fabrication tool box making sure tool sets stay complete and organized, taking trash out, etc.
• Install smaller items on the reef build list such as trim loc around the edges of bin slots, using the rivet gun to snap parts together in preparation for welding.
• Do oil changes on the air compressor
• Eventually run band saws to cut square tube and angle to length.

• Learning how to run a press brake safely and efficiently
• Opportunity for advancement, as these skills in areas of our shop improve there will become opportunities to advance into more lucrative positions and expand on those skills even further.
