Reporting directly into the VP Performance Marketing this critical role owns the execution of our performance marketing strategy across the product portfolio. With a key focus on digital performance channels, you will lead a team in growing and optimizing large-scale customer acquisition efforts for both our new credit card product ‘Aspiration Zero’, as well as for our ‘Aspiration Spend & Save’ product. We are looking for a leader with a highly quantitative background and deep expertise in paid digital acquisition channels.

What You'll Do

  • Digital Customer Acquisition – A key business priority and critical to delivering the company’s financial objectives, the Sr. Director of Performance Marketing leads the day to day execution of driving profitable customer acquisition across key target segments of highly mission aligned consumers. This encompasses growing and optimizing our paid digital demand generation mix, including Paid Search, Paid Social, Affiliates, In-app Marketing, Programmatic, and Remarketing - all with the goal of achieving aggressive customer growth and LTV to CAC efficiency targets.
  • Team Leadership and Development – Lead, manage, and mentor a team of in-house experts. Grow team and capabilities to reach high growth targets. Optimize team structure, priorities, processes, and reporting systems to maximize the team's impact on the organization. Help identify opportunities for in-house channel management vs. outsourcing to agency partners. 
  • Budget and Agency Management – Support management of annual operating budgets and work closely with VP Performance Marketing to ensure delivery of Aspiration's financial forecast. Lead external agency & vendor relationships, including performance marketing agency and large media partners such as Google & Facebook.
  • Holistic Online Experience – In close collaboration with the Product organization, drive continual innovation and optimization of our online experience and customer funnel. Work closely with Product Marketing and CRM teams to develop holistic nurture programs to drive acquisition, retention and loyalty. 
  • Analytics & Attribution – Collaborating closely with internal Data Science & Analytics team, work to improve budgeting/forecasting, attribution, and reporting infrastructure. Support MMT roadmap for new channels and bring an analytical mindset to channel optimization. 

What You'll Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing with key focus on digital performance marketing
  • Experience leading performance marketing teams either on the agency side or complete in-house team.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing performance marketing initiatives that will scale to support the requirements of a growing organization
  • Deep understanding and hands-on platform experience with Facebook and Google Ads. 
  • Thorough understanding of Affiliate platforms and economics.
  • Strong analytical mindset with expertise across tools such as Google Analytics, Looker, Tableau, and ideally Segment.
  • Strong financial acumen and demonstrated ability to effectively manage and optimize multi-million dollar acquisition budgets
  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on communications, marketing, and business. MBA preferred
  • Financial Services background a big plus
