Front End Engineer (UI Developer)

StreetLight Data is seeking a high-caliber Front-End Engineer to be part of our growing team. This team member will work on front-end components within the StreetLight InSight SaaS web application, and reports to the Senior Director of Engineering. It's a great opportunity to work with designers and help guide our product to the next level.
Location: Vancouver, BC or San Francisco, CA

What You'll Do

• Design, implement, and maintain customer-facing features in the StreetLight InSight SaaS web application.
• Collaborate with other engineers, UX Designers, QA and Product Management within a regular monthly release cadence.
• Write automated unit tests and participate in peer design and code reviews.
• Develop high-performance, scalable front-end components
• Tune middle tier for performance, scalability and reliable operation to serve our growing customer base.
• Assist Support and Operations in resolving production issues when needed, and improve the product to avoid them in the future.
• Assist with build vs buy decisions for front end tools and libraries.

What You'll Need

• BS / MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or an Engineering discipline from a top university.
• 3+ years of experience developing web-based SaaS applications, preferably in an enterprise market.
• Proficiency in front-end web development including HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Angular.js, and React.js.
• Proficiency in Python or another similar programming language.
• Experience with Python frameworks (eg., Flask, Django) a plus.
• Product and customer orientation.
• Good communication skills - both written and verbal.
• Quick learner, and a strong team player.
