Job Description

Boundary Stone Partners (BSP) is seeking a highly motivated Policy Associate to join our fast-growing team of climate, clean energy, mobility, and space experts in Washington, D.C.

We help our clients see around corners to anticipate and adjust to rapidly evolving political, legislative, and regulatory landscapes. Our firm provides government affairs, policy analysis, direct lobbying, coalition management, business development, and communications planning for over 70 clients including top energy and mobility companies, leading industry coalitions, major policy think-tanks, and some of the largest investment firms in the world. The salary range for this position is $55k-$75k/year, with bonus potential.


About The Role


The Policy Associate will support BSP’s team in client engagement, management, and government affairs execution with leading companies, non-profits, trade associations, and financial institutions. Core responsibilities include:


  • Assist BSP team in researching policy issues including analyzing data and preparing briefings and/or developing recommended actions
  • Maintain an organized system of tracking, monitoring, and prioritizing tasks and projects related to the client deliverables; take notes for key meetings for follow up actions and reporting
  • Draft memos, correspondences, and other materials; respond to written and verbal inquiries in a timely and accurate manner
  • Be part of the public policy team for a client, utilizing the firm’s expertise and working closely with client’s legal, policy, and business lines 
  • Provide logistical support to BSP Senior Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents for client meetings
  • Develop and track proposals for new client engagements
  • Engage in special projects and other duties as assigned


About You


  • 2+ years of experience, preferably in federal government, policy or corporate government relations in the energy sector
  • Passionate about driving our carbon-free future
  • Highly organized, strategic thinker with polished oral and written presentation skills
  • Exceptional research skills 
  • Thrive under pressure and can balance long and short-term priorities to deliver results
  • Resourceful and entrepreneurial, roll-up your sleeves, and not afraid to think outside the box
  • Want to work with a team who values collegiality and a sense of humor
