Job Description

Position:  Senior Mechanical Powertrain Control Engineer

Description of duties:

Responsible for mechanical development of powertrain performance model, controls algorithm development and validation. Specifically, the job duties include:

  1. Develop high fidelity physical models including vehicle dynamic simulation model, e-powertrain system model and validate control algorithms for use in performance estimators and control strategies.
  2. Plan and analyze results from experiments and simulations, identifying key dynamic characteristics of e-powertrains.
  3. Develop control algorithm for thermal control, traction control system, electronic stability control, etc.
  4. Lead in tuning, calibration with CANape and manage integration of initial prototype systems including bring-up, debug, and engineering test of prototype vehicles.
  5. Develop the automated simulation process that exercise all aspects of dynamic behavior and documentation out of detail test plans, test design, analysis, modeling, prototype/production test scripts, specification releases.
  6. Create real-time system interface and all CAN signal display for HIL testing.
  7. Manage dyno testing database and implement into powertrain model for performance analysis.

 

Requirements:      

Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related plus 1 year’s experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Research Associate or related.
