Job Description
Position: Senior Mechanical Powertrain Control Engineer
Description of duties:
Responsible for mechanical development of powertrain performance model, controls algorithm development and validation. Specifically, the job duties include:
- Develop high fidelity physical models including vehicle dynamic simulation model, e-powertrain system model and validate control algorithms for use in performance estimators and control strategies.
- Plan and analyze results from experiments and simulations, identifying key dynamic characteristics of e-powertrains.
- Develop control algorithm for thermal control, traction control system, electronic stability control, etc.
- Lead in tuning, calibration with CANape and manage integration of initial prototype systems including bring-up, debug, and engineering test of prototype vehicles.
- Develop the automated simulation process that exercise all aspects of dynamic behavior and documentation out of detail test plans, test design, analysis, modeling, prototype/production test scripts, specification releases.
- Create real-time system interface and all CAN signal display for HIL testing.
- Manage dyno testing database and implement into powertrain model for performance analysis.
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related plus 1 year’s experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Research Associate or related.
