Job Description
Position: Senior Software Engineer, Powertrain Control
Description of duties:
Responsible for development of the control software for powertrain of our electric vehicle. Specifically, the detailed job duties include:
- Develop and validate advanced electric motor control algorithms and control strategies for electrified powertrains in the laboratory.
- Develop state-feedback field-oriented controls (FOC) and robust state observers.
- Develop pulse-width-modulation (PWM) and over-modulation algorithms for power electronic converters using state-of-the-art techniques.
- Implement control algorithms on microcontroller chips using C programming.
- Perform parameter calibration for electric motors using back-to-back motor dyno and full-scale drivetrain dyno.
- Post-process experimental data using LabVIEW/Matlab for control algorithm development.
- Bring up new prototypes of electric motors and power electronic converters on the dyno for performance evaluation and system characterization.
- Build simulation models incorporating models of electric motors and power electronic converters in Matlab/Simulink.
- Design and implement electric motor control algorithms with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) simulations.
- Research new electric motor control techniques in international journals and publications.
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related plus 6 months’ experience as a R&D Engineer, Software Engineer, Powertrain Control Engineer or related.
