AECOM is actively seeking a Civil CAD Designer for immediate employment in Halifax, NS, Moncton, NB or Sydney, NS. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of civil engineering technology, be proficient in Civil 3D CAD software, be confident using surveying equipment including GPS and total station and have proven experience in the surveying/design/inspection of municipal infrastructure. The Civil CAD Designer will be expected to work within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and customers. The successful candidate will be expected to support in the delivery of infrastructure to customers primarily within the municipal water, wastewater and stormwater sectors. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Design for municipal infrastructure using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation.</li><li>Road reconstruction, land development, stormwater management and site plan design.</li><li>Lot grading design, surveying, and inspection/certification.</li><li>Working on complex data sets in conjunction with other CAD and GIS technical staff.</li><li>Ensuring overall data quality and integrity.</li><li>Prepare civil design drawings and design calculations.</li><li>Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for civil projects.</li><li>Prepare documentation for design projects and reports.</li><li>Undertake quality control procedures.</li><li>Assures that engineering-related issues are promptly relayed to the Project Manager for action and follows up to assure timeliness of resolution efforts.</li><li>Occasional construction site inspection.</li></ul>
